WAVY WOOL CLUB

Wavy Wool Club is an initiative connecting farmers and creatives. Workshops, talks, and exhibitions are held in the urban and the rural. It addresses environmental, cultural, and financial challenges through experimental practice. By providing a platform for land workers to share skills and stories, the project introduces a creative income stream to recoup losses from a declining farming industry. It is dedicated to agricultural, social, and cultural production through collaboration.

Join the Wavy Wool Club + explore the relationship between wool, the environment, and the people involved in its production.
Humans gave sheep food and protection from predators, and in return, they got wool - a material with magical properties that profoundly altered the course of both human and animal history. However, with the invention of synthetic fibres, the ever-increasing exploitation of territories, peoples, and resources, as well as intensive farming, have recently led to wool becoming of little value.

Tools are available to spin, felt, card and try bookbinding

The Wavy Wool Club is mostly an open space to chat, relax and make objects using lots of beautiful wool collected from various farms around the North West of England, that would have otherwise gone to waste.

Free to attend and open to all.
